Green Committee Update
The Quail bunker restoration project will end this week with new drainage and sand in all bunkers and new sod installed plus the practice bunker area. Several bunkers were eliminated to help reduce future maintenance cost. Some final work will be completed by our maintenance staff.
Work will continue this week on improving and expanding the Silver tees on #4 and #8 on the Coyote nine. Due to the lack of funding, no bunkers will be upgraded this year on Coyote. We have proposed this project to be included in the Golf Budget for 2011.
The long awaited Bermuda grass is finally growing on all three nines - requiring constant mowing now and giving us defined rough areas. Each year the Bermuda should come in stronger sooner leaving us with fewer bare spots on the fairways.
The next Green Committee meeting is Monday, August 2, 2010 at 1:30 pm. All are invited to attend.
Two positions on the Green Committee will be open for three year terms - At-Large - to be filled beginning Jan. 1, 2011. Volunteer applications are available on-line or at the Madera Clubhouse. Applications will close at the end of September and interviews conducted in October of qualified candidates.

On May 15, the Communications Committee presented its website evaluation, including the survey results and the Committee's recommendations, to the POA Board.

Log onto the website Click on the Board Room menu item at the top of the screen In the page that opens, click on Communications Committee In the page that opens next, in the left hand column, under Communications Committee Links, click on Website Surveys. The page that now opens contains a list of several documents: Communications Survey 9-22-08, Web Site Proposal submitted November 2008 and Report to the Quail Creek POA Board - May 15, 2010. Click on any of the document titles to open the named document.

Movie Night Has Been Rescheduled For August 8th - It's Complicated
Come and join us for a free movie on the driving range (behind the Clubhouse). Since the July movie was rained out, we will still be showing "It's Complicated", a romantic comedy with Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. QC Reminders
Quail Creek has many clubs representing a broad variety of activities -- outdoor activities (like hiking and golf) and indoor activities (like bowling and billiards) -- and interests -- cars, computers, performing arts, and dance classes -- just to name a few.
Health information and check-ups, maintenance of the library, and trash removal on local highways are among the services provided by other QC groups. We encourage you to login to the QC web site and explore the offerings under the Clubs & Activities tab. Any updates or reminders for clubs, activities, and services are listed below.

Friday Q&A is a nice way of keeping abreast of current issues at the POA board level. Board members report on such issues and engage the audience in an informal discussion. The Q&A sessions normally occur each Friday at 10:00 in the Gold Room of the clubhouse.
